Havenly began with someone very special to our family: Erica’s grandmother.
After her husband passed away, maintaining the home they had shared became increasingly difficult. He had always been very handy and took care of the repairs, maintenance and everyday projects that come with homeownership. Without him, Grandma’s list of things that needed to be cleaned, updated or fixed continued to grow.
When we visited, we often found ourselves working through that list instead of spending meaningful time together. We were grateful to help, but we also realized that our visits should be about conversation, laughter and making memories—not replacing lightbulbs, coordinating repairs or completing household projects.
That experience showed us how easily older homeowners can be overcharged or pressured into making decisions without a knowledgeable advocate by their side.
Grandma also enjoys traveling, which creates another challenge: making sure her home is safe and functioning properly while she is away. Until now, family members have handled those check-ins. Havenly offers another option—scheduled home visits to check for potential problems, confirm that essential systems are operating as they should and provide reassurance that the home is being looked after.
